How To Apply Siser Easy Weed With An Iron
Black Cat Glow In the Dark T-Shirt, Made at Home – It is the most frightening time of the year! Therefore, I’m presenting the purr-fect DIY for people who enjoy frightening with a side of adorable. I’ve never been a fan of Halloween’s horror and gore.

  • I like to laugh rather shout, and this neon cat tee makes me happy.
  • I’ll demonstrate how to build the luminous, grinning cat T-shirt, and you can get the free artwork at the end of this page to get started! Use your preferred vinyl cutter to cut out your EasyWeed® Glow.
  • Since EasyWeed Glow is fairly similar to other members of the EasyWeed family, its trim settings are likely to be comparable.

To be certain, it is best to do a test cut. I used our Cricut Explore Air to cut the vinyl using the “Vinyl +” setting for this project. This article is for Cricut Maker users and contains all the information novices need to cut Siser HTV using the Cricut Explore series.

  1. When the cutter is complete, unload the cutting mat and remove any excess HTV from the pattern.
  2. When you have eliminated all weeds and are left with fragments of a cat’s face, you may begin applying heat! Adjust your iron’s setting to “Cotton” and allow it to fully preheat.
  3. While the iron is heating up, place the T-shirt on a firm, heat-resistant surface (ironing boards are NOT suggested!).

A firm surface will allow you to apply sufficient force to the HTV. When your iron is hot, iron the area where you intend to apply EasyWeed Glow to remove wrinkles and dampness. Place the pieces of EasyWeed Glow with the shiny side facing up and the adhesive side facing down.

Cover the area with a heat transfer cover sheet, a clean cloth, or parchment paper, and press each transfer for 10 to 15 seconds. Avoid sliding the iron. Sliding the iron might slide move the HTV, destroying your alignment and resulting in a shirt that seems crooked. Instead, elevate the iron and apply hard pressure over each piece of EasyWeed Glow.

Now you may remove the transparent carrier sheets! If some of the heat transfer vinyl lifts as the carrier sheet is peeled away, reposition it and apply an additional five seconds of pressure. This black cat tee is incredibly adorable and amusing, day or night! Check out that radiance! This shirt is excellent for hayrides and haunted homes.

Start by selecting your design. Today I’m creating a t-shirt with a monogram pocket. Be careful to measure the space where you intend to place your design, and keep that measurement in mind while you create your project.

  1. It would be prudent to begin heating your iron or heat press while you are planning and cutting.
  2. My Craftables Smooth vinyl requires an iron temperature between 300 and 315 degrees Fahrenheit.
  3. My iron only has fabric settings and not a temperature setting.
  4. If your iron is similar to mine, use the high cotton and low linen settings.

I’m used Silhouette Studio for this undertaking. Open your design in the design software of your choosing. If you are working with a picture as I am, you may trace it by pressing the butterfly button and picking the desired location. Once your design is satisfactory, click “trace.” Immediately after tracing, rotate your design horizontally by clicking the rotation symbol and one of the horizontal flip buttons.

  • Delete the original trace and resize your design by dragging the boxes around the design’s border in or out.
  • Silhouette Studio will tell you the dimensions of your design, so make sure it’s the correct size! Measure twice and cut only once to save time and money! Now it’s time to chop! Your cut settings may vary depending on the type of HTV and equipment you employ.

Make careful you conduct a test cut before you cut your design! Ensure that the glossy side of the vinyl is facing down on the mat. Press the “load” button on your PC. After verifying the cut parameters, hit the cut button! The cut settings I used for this design are the pre-loaded heat transfer vinyl and smooth autoblade settings from Silhouette.

  1. Once your design has been cut, hit the “unload” button on your machine.
  2. Remove the record from the mat.
  3. It is now time to prune your design.
  4. Using a pick or other weeding tools, weeding is the act of removing undesired vinyl from a pattern.
  5. Take your time and remove any unneeded vinyl carefully.
  6. If your iron is fully heated, the big moment has arrived! Iron the cloth for 5 to 10 seconds to preheat it.

This step is vital because it removes any moisture from the cloth that might weaken the glue. Now apply the vinyl to your product with the glossy side facing up. If you used text in your design, you now understand why you were required to turn it horizontally.

  • Thanks to the adhesive carrier sheet, the decal should be able to adhere to the cloth.
  • Use a sheet of Teflon, a scrap of cloth, or parchment paper between your design and the iron.
  • This safeguards both the iron and the project.
  • Now it is time to apply heat.
  • Remember to follow the instructions appropriate to your HTV kind.

I will apply 300-315 degrees Fahrenheit heat at medium pressure for 10 seconds without a Teflon sheet and 15 seconds with a Teflon sheet while using Craftables Smooth. Check this chart if you are using a different type of Craftables heat transfer vinyl.

After applying heat and pressure, resist the impulse to remove the carrier sheet quickly! Wait approximately 10 seconds before acting. It is far too hot to touch at this stage! Once ten seconds have elapsed, proceed to remove the carrier sheet. If properly applied, the carrier sheet should peel off easily, keeping your design intact! Now, if the vinyl does not appear to be entirely adhered to the cloth, you can apply heat to the pattern one last time before concluding this project.

Cover your design with the teflon layer once again and press or iron it for approximately 5 seconds. To ensure that everything is included for good! And you’re finished! I think I have addressed all of your concerns below. You’ll become better and better with each job, and soon you’ll be an HTV expert! How can I get my Siser HTV to adhere?

Improper Press Time or Temperature – Pressure is crucial to the adhesion of your patterns to your clothes, but so are press time and temperature. If you don’t press for long enough or at a high enough temperature, it’s unlikely that the material will become hot enough to release its adhesive, preventing it from sticking to the cloth once it has cooled.
